Wouldn't want to spread any positive word of what they do. Of course, that may not be true as I'm sure the nobles wouldn't want word of the Brotherhood's nation and ideals getting around.Īnd their ships! Blowing holes in the boats of those they deem 'corrupt', killing the ones they blame for restricting people's freedom, and reselling what they plunder to sympathetic barkeeps at a reasonable price. They even had the gall to approach the leaders of Theah's nations demanding that they be recognized. They seem to think of themselves as their own little nation, bonded together not by the land they're from (they have no land!) but by brotherhood with each other and a commitment to themselves. Seems horribly inefficient to me, each ship having rules that suit them but also needing to adhere to a larger council's code (or so I hear). The merchants who have been boarded by the Brotherhood say that each of their ships acts as their own little state, with a Captain as their head rather than any king or queen. ![]() Sail under their own flag, they say, fighting for freedom from the tyranny of nations. A bunch of ne'er-do-wells who choose the oceans over back alleys for their livelihoods, accosting any merchant vessel traveling the seas.
